Economies of Armenia and Kyrgyzstan will reach pre-crisis levels in 2022

02 April 2021

In Armenia and Kyrgyzstan, the economies are expected to regain their pre-crisis levels within 2022. This projection was made by Evgeny Vinokurov, Chief Economist of the Eurasian Development Bank and the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development. According to his forecast, the revival of consumer and investment activities will occur in 2021, subject to softening of restrictive measures. GDP growth in Kyrgyzstan is expected to be at a level of 3.9 percent by the end of this year and at 5.5 percent next year. “The expansion of external demand and the rising oil prices will serve as extra incentives to boost the economic recovery in the EDB region,” - pointed out Evgeny Vinokurov.
