EDB intends to build five Russian-language schools in Tajikistan

EDB plans to build five new Russian-language schools in Tajikistan by September 2022. This news was announced on Friday by the EDB Chairman of the Board Nikolai Podguzov upon conclusion of his meeting with President of Tajikistan Emomali Rakhmon. In April, the construction of five new schools will begin, and they are scheduled to be commissioned by September 2022,” - Khovar Agency quotes Podguzov’s comments. Podguzov also mentioned that the President of Tajikistan expressed "great support to learning the Russian language" in his country. In April 2019, an agreement was signed by the governments of Tajikistan and Russia on construction, as well as supplies of materials and technical equipment for general education institutions in the cities of Dushanbe, Khujand, Bokhtar, Kulyab and Tursunzade, with teaching in the Russian language. Each of them will have the capacity to enroll 1,200 schoolchildren.
