The EFSD visits Tajikistan with a mission
Moscow, 25 February 2020. On 18-21 February 2020, the Project Unit of the Eurasian Fund for Stabilization and Development (EFSD) managed by the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) visited Tajikistan with a mission to discuss a programme of reforms that may be supported with a financial credit from the EFSD. The mission also presented the results of research into various issues relating to Tajikistan’s economy and proposed wordings for certain structural reforms envisioned by the programme.
The mission met with Faiziddin Qahhorzoda, Minister of Finance of Tajikistan, as well as the management and experts from key ministries and organisations involved in the preparation of the programme. EFSD experts also had meetings with development partners based in Tajikistan, including the International Monetary Fund, the World Bank, and the Asian Development Bank, to coordinate operations and discuss important reforms.
The sides expressed their satisfaction with joint work to prepare the draft programme of reforms and agreed on the next steps necessary to finalise it.
